Superb sound, excellent quality, and good value

The first 'portable' (i.e. small, all built-in) CD/radio I've had that plays music really well. I have loss of high frequency through old age, so tend to hear low frequency very loud, and for me a loud bass is a turn-off (literally). With this one I do not need my hearing aids and the sound is very clear. It has a good simple graphic equaliser (not mentioned in the spec.) It picks up DAB completely faultlessly, and the remote control makes it easy to use in bed. I don't know how they do it for the price. On Which? they compare it not unfavourably with the best they've tested (about £600!). I took a chance with this and won! I'm delighted.Read full review

Even I can set it up!

I wanted something that would fit easily on a shelf yet pumped out a reasonable sound for my cds. This Hifi unit is very small and ridiculously easy to set up-I even managed to put into memory all the DAB staions etc. Quite often I get poor DAB reception where I am but this picks up really well. The sound quality is good and the kids love it that they can plug in their devices and listen to their stuff through the unit. If you are wanting to put it on a high shelf you might need an extension cable and I have found that the remote needs to be fairly accurately pointed to get a response, but otherwise it far exceeds my expectations, especially in view of the price.Read full review

Ridiculous,no memory chip

it is unbelievable that a well known company like JVC can offer this unit for sale that has no memory chip in it.One will spend lots of time setting up preset radio stations but as soon as this unit is switched off at the plug all preset memory is erased.The CD slot keeps jumping in and out when not even CD.Whoever decided to market this product without putting in memory chip should be hanged.Just too bad.Read full review
