Exceeded my expectations...
This filter has made my life easier and allowed me to have more fish in my tank, without a loss of water quality.
I was reluctant to use an external filter, as my tank sits above a nice cabinet and I was dreading that any water leaks during filter changing/cleaning would cause me issues - but I needn't have worried!
The isolating valves on the top work perfectly and let no water out when disconnecting. Also the filter doesn't leak anywhere around the top seal, even though it is taken apart every two weeks, or so. The action of the manual pump in the lid quickly circulates the water to dispel any air, so the power pump can be started up.
The filter comes with virtually no media, which is actually a benefit, as I was able to choose exactly the media I wanted, without throwing away money on stuff I didn't choose to use.

Great little pump. Little fiddly to put together due to pigeon English in instructions and terrible quality photos but once you've got it going, it's a ok. The big, silver button is a manual pump and when they say "push it", they mean both hands hard down and get some action going because you have to draw the tank water in and out and only then do you switch the pump on. The spray bar pressure is perfect for my 200 litre tank, nothing crazy, no flying fish (which I have seen before) just perfect rate of flow. The green attachments and tubes that go inside the tank are barely visible which is handy since the whole pump is out of the way.
All in all, I am very satisfied with this pump and I would definitely recommend it.

It's easy to criticise but this is good value. It looks like an Eheim but obviously it's not. It rumbles away to itself but does the job, for how long? We shall see. It copies the refinements of a Fluval but is notchy and difficult to dismantle. Loose 'o' ring seals inside etc. The pipe fittings have built in valves like a Fluval but it doesn't eject like a Fluval.
One needs to remember this item is half the price of a Fluval and about a third the price of an equivalent Eheim but is very inferior in both quality of manufacturing and the specification of the materials used. I doubt parts would be available if needed.

Easy to use
Easy to use, took me a couple of goes to get the pump working, you don't have to be gentle when pushing the large sliver button, just give it a good push a couple of times to get the water flowing. I like the pipe disconnect feature too, so simple and no mess for when cleaning the filter out.Read full review
