Krups GX5000
Easy to use. Does not take a lot of space. There are many grind settings to get that perfect cup of coffee. The bean hopper is not removable for cleaning .A removable hopper would be a great upgrade. All in all a very satisfied customer.Read full review

A major disappointment
I have nothing to compare this with as it’s the only burr grinder I’ve owned. But it is pretty close to useless. No matter the grind setting I choose I get a fairly deep layer of very fine (espresso) grind on top. I bought the grinder because I need to cold brew because it yields coffee with low acidity. That calls for coarsely ground beans. You can see my problem. I’ll use the grinder for my drip coffee maker when I have guests. I couldn’t be more disappointed!Read full review

If you love espresso, this may not be for you.
I bought a used GX5000 grinder which works fine and I am sure that it would be adequate for many kinds of coffee drinks, but if you wish to use this for espresso, you may be happier with a Krups GVX1 or GVX2. I own two GVX1s, both of which have more settings on the finer side of the spectrum. The GX5000 will grind for espresso but only on the finest setting. On the GVX, the finest setting is almost fine enough for Turkish coffee. By the way, my GVXs are much older and more worn than the GX and all of these grinders share virtually the same mechanisms ! But the GVX offers a better range of finer grinds.Read full review

Nothing special, inconsistant grind
It is what it is, an inexpensive burr grinder, Even on a fine setting it spews out a portion of large chunks. The grind is inconsistent. Country of origin is known for making cheap products that barely work and this grinder falls right into that category.Read full review

High Expectations
The Krups undoubtedly grinds beans more uniformly. However, I expected coffee with improved flavor based on what the coffee cognoscenti would have me believe. I have varied the settings on the Krups in an attempt to zone in on my optimum brew, but still cannot say I have found this unit superior to my old blade grinder. I will keep at it however.Read full review

great to use, hard to clean
worth every penny! The brush could be longer which would make it easier to clean otherwise it's great!

Quiet.
I had a Cuisinart that was similar but this one is much quieter. I don't feel like I will wake up the whole house if I get up early and make coffee.

WoW! Great Grinder
I had another brand and it either ground too much or too little and no in between. This one gives me total control, settings so I can get just the exact amount I wish. Love it! I did the research and this one compares to those costing 2, 3, or 5 times as much.Read full review

When you’re ready to move up to the next level in grinding your expensive coffee beans, this is it, worthy of Colombian Supremo and my Chemex.
