Outside frost protection

I only put this on my outside tap after I'd had a burst pipe so can't say how effective it is. But it seems very effective and easy to put on. It seems a bit flimsy but then polystyrene is very light anyway. It fits snugly over the tap so I have no reason to think it won't be effective in protecting the tap from frost. Tape and pipe protection for the hard winter ahead.

These items have already been fitted to my outside taps in preparation for a hard winter this year. They are easy to fit, solid and well insulated, but could be cheaper than what I paid. But if it will help protect my pipes / taps from bursting in the cold weather then the cost is irrelevant as it will easily outway the cost and inconvenience of repair, preparation is hopefully the key to protecting my outside taps / pipes with what I think will be a harsh winter this year.Read full review

Needs a hard outer shell

Concept of this is great but it's flimsy polystyrene. Needs a hard outer shell so it doesn't easily break/snap. I've improved it by carefully wrapping it in duct tape so think it will last now.

GREAT idea. Simple & very effective. Only problem, I had to paint them to stop them looking so tatty and hopefully seal the polystyrene they are made from. Otherwise, all good.

Slight reservation.

The cover is ok. But my only reservation is that the Cover does not quite go over the tap when the tap is in the upright (vertical) position without being forced. But when I have time I will trim a little of the cover to make it fit.Read full review

A good looking and very effective outdoor tap cover, good shape, big enough to cover any outdoor tap, strong and versatile with a rubber anchor to attach to the tap to hold the cover in place.

OK but too small for my tap

I have a standard size outdoor tap and this wouldn't quite fit over it. It's made from expanded polystyrene and split when I tried to push it on. I ended up having to split it some more to get it to fit and then bound it with duct tape. Not ideal.Read full review

Slightly too small if your taps have hose nozzles on

Slightly too small if your taps have hose nozzles on. They were turned 45 degrees and pushed home to protect taps from wind chill, so with this caveat they do the job. In hindsight I’d probably go for the fabric jackets.Read full review
