LG Magic Remote - Superb! A+

I bought this remote when we recently upgraded our smart tv to a LG OLED smart tv. I must say once it is all set up the remote is superb. I was able to programme my Sony Bluetooth speaker and Sky box to function with the remote too. So now I have one single remote to control all my favourite devices, not to mention streaming services such as Netflix, Disney + and Amazon Prime. Overall excellent device that if you have a compatible LG Smart tv, I highly recommend it.Read full review

Does the job.

This remote is being used with an older LG TV to replace an MR18 where the spring on the thumbwheel has failed after 5 years use. The MR20 is not completely backwards compatible but does the main functions correctly. It has one feature that the MR18 lacked, namely play and pause buttons (I had bought an LG infrared remote solely to have these features missing on the MR18!)
This particular item sometimes requires more that one press of a button to register but this may be gradually improving, only time will tell.
I don't have experience of the many "compatible" remotes on sale on eBay, preferring to pay more for the LG branded product.Read full review

This remote has lots of features that the standard remote does not have.
It operates by radio frequency rather than infra red so it doesn't have to be directly pointed at the screen. It has voice control and a cursor pointer like on a computer as well as a scroll knob.Read full review
