A GOOD BUY

Although inexpensive, the Majority Arbury DAB radio is well made, stylish, lightweight and portable.
The set-up is easy and only took me a couple of minutes.
Sound quality is reasonable for the price and I really like the fact that it has it's own battery unit which can be recharged - good for the planet and saves money in not having to buy new batteries when you are using it away from the mains.Read full review

Thought it might be better

Other reviews spoke of the quality build of this radio. It’s not bad but does overall feel cheap and lightweight. I guess for the money, what do you expect. The case it comes with has a better build quality. The setting up of the stations isn’t so straightforward. I’d recommend going on their YouTube video and watching that which gets you up to spend much quicker. It’s also not very instant when turning on either. You have to wait for it to update the date first. I found the controls generally a bit fiddly and the on/off button a bit annoying as it doesn’t switch it off right away. Again for the money etc. Overall I wish I’d paid a bit more and got something a little better. I’ve bought it for camping/sitting in the garden so it’ll do the job for that I guess.Read full review

Quality radio

We bought this DAB radio to replace a Pure digital radio on our narrow boat, as it can be charged via a USB cable, which the Pure unit can not. From taking it out of the box the experience has been great; easy set up, controls simple to use and intuitive, good sound (ok, it won't win awards against a full stereo sound system, but what portable would?) and the reception is very good, even inside the boat which is all steel and usually causes problems! The radio is nice looking, is covered in a grippy silicone type finish and I would recommend it highlyRead full review

Unfortunate purchase

Its with some regret that I recommend that you avoid this radio - which is a pity because its design is attractive and when working its sound quality is good. The problem with my radio - which may be a one-off fault- is that if left on standby (the relatively inaccessible switch at the back in the "on" position and the "power" button on the front with off selected), when restarted the DAB sound quality is appalling. The only way I have found to re-set it is to do a DAB scan - after which its fine - until the next time. Because the rear switch is relatively inaccessible I tried unplugging it at the mains - but then after a few days the battery is too flat to operate the radio. Maybe mine is a one-off rogue radio but by the time I had tried and failed to find a way round its short comings three weeks had elapsed and the packaging had been discarded so I could not return it.Read full review

Great little radio

Easy to set up and like that it is rechargeable instead of keeping a supply of batteries or having an adapter being plugged in for it to work.

The battery life is quite good too. I do have to keep the aerial fully extended in order to receive the dab stations but that could be down to area i live in.

Good sound and I use this in my kitchen and bathroom. Looking to buy another one.

Okay for the price

Nice looking radio and sturdy enough to use outside. As previous reviewers have said not easy to program preset channels. My radio seems to be temperamental as sometimes when switched on does not go past the "welcome to digital radio" screen so have to switch off and on again then it works okay. When working sound quality is good. Would have been better to have the on/off switch at the front as when plugged in awkward to twist round. On balance, given the price and that it is rechargeable, I think it is value for money.Read full review

Good rechargeable battery but ...

Turns on and off with tiny switch on back - would be much better with button. Lightweight, which is fine, but fell over twice in first week of use, breaking aerial. Presets not very easy or convenient. Shame as wanted it as replacement for wind up/ rechargeable radio I have used for years in the bathroom.Read full review
