Number plates can be read easily on followed, passing and approaching vehicles when freeze-framed in the downloadable NextBase desktop viewer. Has G-Sensor to automatically write-protect videos including a knock to the vehicle and also a button to manually do the same on other occasions.
Parking Mode too cumbersome to switch on/off every time; I suggest that with a 128GB micro-SD card fitted there's enough recording time to simply leave it continuously recording whilst you're away (if your vehicle's power socket is live when you're parked).Read full review

Every file corrupt.
Someone pulled in front of me the other day and I had to brake hard to avoid him. Close call but never mind it would be interesting to see the footage, or so I thought. Although the card showed full every file was corrupted, not a single video could be shown. Damn lucky I didn't hit him as I would have had no video evidence.
Put another card in the device so I will see how it performs over the coming week or so. I guess I might have a faulty unit as I have another in the rear window of my car and that seems fine.

I have had mine for a while now. It mounts easily with its suction pad and is small enough to fit just so - I can have it hidden from my view by the rear view mirror. This is important because we are breaking the law if anything obstructs our windscreen.
The film quality is good in most lights but it doesn't have night vision. It works very well and its handy to be able to remove it from its base. You can take it inside and USB it to a PC or remove the SD card and do it that way.
Minor drawbacks - it often protects a segment if driving over a road lump or similar and when handling it, the on/off button is so placed that it can easily be triggered. Apart from that its a great small cam. Read full review

Very impressive and so easy to connect to phone. May take a little while to get to know how to set it to my specific level. But that's technology iam old school and I am getting to grips with it already. Not gone out using night vision yet. But I know it will be perfect. Definitely recommend this netbase 412 GW . Nextbase 412GW - A good, reliable dash cam.
Much clearer recording than my earlier 312GW camera and, given this model has been superseeded now, this is good value and will suit most requirements.
I'm not sure if the touch buttons suit me better over the push types on the older model, it is too easy to set the thing going while handling it.

Compact product and easy to set up. Would have been helpful to include a small mini booklet on the product instead off downloading the CD. Product is what it describes but upon play-back there seem to be some glare being displayed on the screen although the camera has been set low enough that it does not capture too much sky that can cause such glare. Would be advisable to have the power supply in a USB format as well as there are many gadgets that require a power source from the cigarette lighter.Read full review

Great dash cam from Nextbase.
I've owned a few other dash cams over the years but this one is by far the best. 140 degree viewing angle combined with quality optics provide superb video footage, this coupled with built in GPS and Wi-Fi, the latter allows you to watch and download the videos to your phone via the brilliant Nextbase Cam View app, make for IMHO one of the best dash cams on the market.
