I've been using it for months now. It has been outstandingly reliable. Remains connected with no issues and respond to Google and Alexa voice commands as well as App consistently. The only feature that is not consistent are the App voice and push notifications but it could be an issue with my phone. You need to make sure App remains working in background and doesn't get closed by phone O.S. battery saver. Schedule works well. I've set a "close" routine everyday at 10PM in case I forget to close garage. I tried GeoFencing once and it did work, but I don't need that feature so I turned it off, not sure how consistent it is. A handy and useful tool, but geofencing won't work on Android 8 and above.

Nexx Garage is set up and operating as expected with one exception - geofencing doesn't work. Several email exchanges with tech support (who are very attentive) revealed that geofencing has problems with Android 8 and higher! There is no estimate when this issue will be fixed. Their programmers are aware of the problem and are working on it. This review would be 5-stars if geofencing worked.

Set up took longer than expected and required help from tech support. Apparently, my second router (security cameras have their own router) interferes. I was able to work through the problem with help. The installation directions were fair, but could have been more thorough

Great bargain, and no subscription service.

My Garage Door Opener was not on the list of compatible or incompatible units, So we got to add one more to the compatible units list! The support was almost instantaneous in responses and installation was pretty easy. I do wish there was a little better way to mount the magnet to the garage door itself, it's tough to do at the top of the door with the provided screws not being made for metal, but are self tapping wood screws. Once installation was out of the way setup and config was pretty simple, the only drawback I have is that instead of linking the service directly to the Google Assistant, it's linked as a "Google Assistant App" and the commands take longer to activate than other smart home devices in my house, and occasionally when requesting the door be opened/closed it will answer back with "That sounds like something Nexx Garage can help with, do you want to talk to them?" then I have to reply yes before the action starts. If they could integrate the service like others have into the "add device" portion of Google's Assistant/Home, I think it would help with response time and provide a better overall experience. Aside from that, I need to configure and try the auto open feature, but the rest of the use has been great, the kids liked playing with the door for a minute or two after setup and I tested from multiple Google Home Minis we have around the house, they all are able to operate the door. It's nice to walk from my closet after finishing up getting ready in the morning, ask Google to open the garage, and by the time I reach the garage the door is already up and ready for me to leave.Read full review

Great Smart Garage Product

I have been very pleased with this product, an excellent retrofit to create a smart garage door opener. The installation was straightforward, maybe a little DIY knowledge for the door sensor installation which increased total time to about 30 minutes. This extra time is worth it though because the door sensor has a hardwired connection versus the bluetooth battery operated ones that come with competitor products.The door sensor allows the app to know when the door opens and closes as well as sends you alerts if the door has been left open for a period of time, very useful. It will also let you know who opened the door, a great way to know when family members arrive home. The app is intuitive and easy to use. It has IFTTT integration to use with Google Home and Amazon Alexa for voice activated control. Plus, there are no monthly charges for this, unlike the Chamberlain MyQ product which was a deal breaker for me. There are also minimal delays in opening and closing the door using both the app and voice activation, as I have read competitor products with a 5-7 second delay, this product is almost instantaneous. Nexx Garage... Pretty simple install... nothing "fancy" about the product. It just works.

Excellent product, overall. Initial WiFi setup is a little "clunky", but not horrible. Physical installation is pretty quick and straightforward. Excellent System

I bought the Nexx NXG-100 new, but open box. We can all acknowledge that this can be a gamble, but in this case the gamble paid off. About $35 for an opener that retails for about $100. It arrived in a plain envelope, all parts appearing new. Installation was straight forward, as was set up. Integrated seamlessly with Alexa. Geofence works well after a little tweaking, though sometimes it takes the system a few seconds to wake up. Delivery beat the estimated date by a few days. Overall, an excellent device and an excellent experience. One interesting tidbit: I have a garage door opener with a light (a diode I think) on the back that blinks certain patterns to give you status information (no blinking means everything is OK, two blinks means blah blah blah). After installing the Nexx unit the light would stutter blink when the unit was powered. It turns out the antenna on my garage door opener (the one that talks to the remotes) was picking up RF noise from the Nexx unit. My solution was to tape the antenna to the side of the GDO body so that the body was in between the Nexx and the antenna. No more stutter blinking and the remotes can still talk to the GDO. FYI if you have a house that is adjacent to more than one street that you drive down to get home you will have to reduce the diameter of you geofence to avoid issues.Read full review
