I like this lens, it was sold as a manual focus, which it must be used as on a Nikon DSLR, but it functions best as a fully automatic, including autofocus on my N4004s and N2020 film cameras. I've used it manually on an N65, and will try it out on autofocus on my

I have a Nikor AFS 18-70 as my standard lens, but the AF 35-70 seems to give me better detail up close with manual focus. If I use a fish eye with the AF lens it works even better. It is a great lens and takes excellent photos.Read full review

For the money, not bad at all

Stopped down, image quality is quite good on a crop sensor camera. Zoom action is smooth and focus is accurate but attention must be paid not to move the lightly damped focus ring. I use the lens at 70mm mostly to achieve 105mm equivalence on my Fuji X-series cameras. I would ultimately prefer a Fuji 70mm if ever produced and found my Nikkor 105mm ais lost some resolution on the speed booster I used. The lens also focuses fairly closely for impromptu shots. Not as good as a dedicated macro lens, but certainly serviceable.Read full review

Great price For an okay lens

No matter what i do this lens doesn't capture a crisp clear image. There is always fuze or haze or pixels, even when its wide open with plenty of light.
