Philips CD-104

One of the first CD players on the market with the very first DAC in the history. It souds great like it is but if you "downgrade" its digital part removing oversampling, and upgrade the analogue part with better op-anps, this 14-bit iron baby (32cm/7kg) will beat many high-end players. As you take a soldering iron, do not forget to change electrolytic capacitors. Just google "Philips CD-104" - a lot of information on the modifications.Read full review
