Philips Kettle HD 4671

This is my second Philips kettle and for me one of the most functional kettles. It has large lid opening which makes it easy to fill up and to clean inside afterwards. It has a clear water gauge on both sides of the unit and it boils reasonably quickly depending on how much water you put in.Read full review

Consider your needs!

Looks stylish in the pics but looks more like a mini tea urn in real life. Vertical sides and a very chunky look. I had a smart 1.6L and thought a 1.7 wouldn't be too much bigger. But it's enormous and definitely more functional than attractive. The clear strip across the top is always covered in condensation internally so doesn't look very good. Biggest feature failure is that it doesn't switch off if you pick it up as it boils - i.e. before the switch has popped up by itself. So put it back down and it will reboil again. I kept if hoping it would grow on me - bad mistake. It hasn't! Unless you have a burning need for 1.7L all the time, this will not be an attractive addition to your kitchen in any way, shape or form.Read full review

Star buy

I had one of these for 3 years when the lid hinge broke, so I knew what I was buying. This was a brand new replacement for about half price, so it was great value. It does work well too, boiling fast without much noise, easy to use and de calcify.
The box was hardly damaged so a bargain all round.

Best kettle ever

This is my second Philips kettle, the only fault with the first one was that one of the springs went in the lid, hence 4 stars rather than 5. I have tried every brand of kettle in the last forty years and this is by far the best. The old one still works fine but was needed elsewhere. Well worth the money.Read full review

Always 'go look' at appliances BEFORE ordering them on the internet.

The push button to open the lid fails on most occassions and one has to prize open the lid with your other hand because the 2 springs on the lid hinge are inadequate. Also the mesh filter has parted company with it's plastic frame after only 3 weeks use. The kettle is very large in height for it's water capacity!Read full review

A classic

I have tried a few kettles since owning one of these and can't find anything that comes close under £50. So have bought another. It looks good, is easy to clean and is also quiet. It can boil 1 cup of water and works quickly.Read full review

A great product and good value

I love this kettle; it is my second one in 12 years. Sadly the lid hinges got tired on my previous one and it would not pop open, although still working perfectly well after heavy use for over 12 yearsRead full review

Efficient kettle ticking all the boxes

This is an exact replacement for our last kettle as we were very happy with it's appearance and performance. It was also cheaper on eBay than anywhere else. Arrived promptly too.

Looks good

Seems OK... markings easy to read on both sides so no boiling water you don't need.
