While it may seem to be incompatible with Windows 7/8/10, there are drivers on Hauppauge's website where you can get the latest drivers to make it work with the newer OS'. It is, however, not compatible with USB 3.0/3.1 slots, only USB 2.0.

It's great for digitizing VHS, dropouts usually will produce dropped frames so an external TBC may be necessary.

The maximum resolution it will capture is 720x480, but the plus side is that the VBI will also be captured (at least for me.)

Be warned that sometimes putting your computer to sleep will disable the sound from the card. An easy fix is to unplug the device, restart your computer, and plug the device back in.Read full review

Waste of Money

The product was advertised as brand new, but seal was broken and looked like it was previously used. Also, could not get sound to work through the dazzle device. Had to use Line-in connector on PC. During capture, the video was jittery and also during playback. Read full review

Works great when paired with the right software

I am giving this product 5 stars based on understanding how to most effectively use it. The accompanying software that pinnacle provides is outdated and useless. I could never get their driver updates to function properly. I also tried several different products. The most user friendly is NCH's "Debut" video capture software. So far I have captured over 150 hours of VHS tape to digital files on my computer. The only issue this software has, is it will occasionly start capturing in black-and-white instead of color. The simple solution to this is to shut down then re-open the program.Read full review

Not compatible with Win-10

Not compatible with DirX-12 used in Win-10. I should have done more research. I was replacing one I used very successfully with earlier versions of Windows.
