A CLASSIC IMPROVED WITH ZOMBIUES
To get a better understanding of PPZ, watch the original Pride & Prejudice first. It will help to enjoy more of the humor. However, it does also work as a stand alone movie. The book began a new classification of literature of combining classics with horror effects. This pairing has made many older novels much better reads for many younger readers.I have used it with reading improvement classes. The film works very well, great special effects, plenty of action.Read full review

Moderately entertaining zombie costume drama.
Based perhaps rather loosely on the book based on Miss Austen's book, it's a movie about girl power, with occasional doses of ironic humor. Set in a besieged eighteenth-century England, the movie contains appropriate amount of blood, guts and shambling hoards of the undead. Without any marquee names present, the lead parts are played by nice English gels with small chins.Read full review

Interesting content, well made, well acted.
About the movie... it wasn't as ridiculous as the title would suggest. I think that the zombie idea was well incorporated into the pride and prejudice story line. About the product...The disc was in good condition and harlots of special features.Read full review

A tale of 19th century love and angst...with the undead nibbling at your heels.
Jane Austen would probably not be amused, but I definitely was. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies manages to keep the flavor of the Austen novel while maintaining the horror angle twist. Pacing is a bit slow, but then the original story itself is hardly a speed read. Effects are pretty good; my only complaint, as a horror fan, is I would have liked to have seen a few more (extreme) zombie makeups. Read full review
I love it.
I loved it the first time I saw it from a Red Box, and I loved it even more when I saw it from my own DVD. It's arrived weeks before expected, it was still wrapped in the plastic, and it plays beautifully. I highly recommend it. Well done.Read full review

Cheesy romance, zombies, girls with weapons, and period costume, a good date movie. Kind of funny too.
If you like period costume, girls with weapons, monsters, a few lame jokes, and cheesy romance, you might like this for the right price. It's not an original block buster, but I loved it.

A Great DVD, Has Great Features
I was roaring with laughter. This is a smart movie with beautiful costumes, perfect acting and a total surprise to its quality. I am a die hard fan of Jane Austin and at first thought what a silly movie until a friend told me I should buy it. Glad I did. In addition to being a smart movie, it is witty, each actor is perfect for their role (especially the pious Mr. Collins, Lady Catherine). I just love this version and it actually stays true to the book's dialogue. A real gem and it is a shame it did not do so well in the theaters. The only aspect I did not like was the ending coda, it just was not what I had expected and wish it could have had a different ending. Still, an enjoyable movie. I even bought the Blu Ray version.Read full review

Critics are dumb.
This was a fun movie in just the satiric vein of the book. Although lover's of Jane Austen AND zombies may be rare, they make a funny combination.
