I swear by Quicken 2004 for my personal finances and would be totally lost without it. Needing to replace my 8-year old home PC with a new one running Windows 10, I was concerned how I was going to keep my beloved software going.
I found this product on eBay, read the reviews and purchased the product.
Backed up my Quicken data from the old PC onto a portable hard drive (could use a flash drive also).
Followed the instruction sheet supplied with the product, downloaded the files onto the new Windows 10 PC, including the all-important missing .dll files.
Started Quicken on the new PC and used "restore from backup" to import my data files from the hard drive.
Ran perfectly first time. Even my page set-up copied over exactly, so I'm up and running. Took about 30 mins in total.
If I need to, I can re-use the product on multiple PCs with no additional licence.

Initial worry unfounded.
Having used previous versions of Quicken (and paid a lot for them!) I was dubious this would work on my newer Windows 10 PC as I was importing data used on my old one running Windows XP. I didn't need to worry as everything imported fine after a couple of initial issues trying to install the program.
The only niggle is how tiny the writing and tabs are on this version - although I expect there are some settings that could be tweaked to alter this. Just relieved all my data is still there, all for a bargain at £4.99Read full review

Excellent home account software
Very simple easy to use software for managing personal bank accounts. More complex features for following investments and other assets are present in the software but these are not used by me.
Transactions can easily be entered and divided into various categories (eg groceries, home maintenance, car costs) and transactions can be reconciled across multiple accounts (bank, credit cards, shopping cards etc). The summary gives a good overall balance of financial status.Read full review

Quicken 2004 as transtion from Quicken 2000 to Quicken 2016
I needed Quicken 2004 to transition from Quiken 2000 on my old Windows 7 laptop to windows 10. Now I can upgrade further to the latest version. I wouldn't have been able to do so without TechAssist help for which I am eternally grateful. The thought of losing 17 years financial data was not good!! The moral of the story is always upgrade when you can and don't let legacy programmes rule you.Read full review

A great program
This was possibly the best of the home finance programs.
It is a great pity that Intuit chose to drop it from their product range way back in 2004. I was able to install it without difficulty and it runs well - even on Windows 10 although it does have slight glitches when I try to back it up after using the portfolio section. Perfect. Loosing my original CD didn't matter after a disk crash!
Have been using Quicken 2004 for many years. Whilst it is somewhat old-fashioned, it has and does serve us well.
So when my PC's hard disk stopped booting, and after getting another hard disk working instead, I needed to get the existing data working. But I'd lost the disk but this came to the rescue. Within a few minutes of ordering, I had the Quicken up and running just as it was with all the data functioning nicely.

The Best of the bunch.
I have been using various versions of Quicken for many years now but with changing to Windows 10 computer was not sure about this working. However, there is no need to worry as this works with Windows 10 perfectly.. Certain things are a bit different to the older versions but you soon get used to them and I would be lost without it. Quicken 2004
Excellent home accounts program. Originally marketed in the early 1990's. Unfortunately lost the program after a Windows 10 update, but found this on the Internet. Extremely easy to download and install in Windows 10. Fortunately I back up my accounts onto a memory stick and I have been able to restore my accounts back to 2001! Read full review
