Fun pocketable camera.
Great camera. Because of the size I'm actually able to take it with me all the time. The snap focus feature is perfect for street photography. The positive film simulation generates images reminiscent of film.
Downloading the images is also very convenient using the app and the NFC feature. Just turn on the wifi, touch your phone to the side of them camera and you're connected.Read full review

Good but not perfect
Of course this is one of the best cameras out there. But is not 100% pocketable. It has sharp edges and the lens makes the body thick. It doesn't fit well in Ricoh GR1's case. Mine arrived with a spot of dust on the sensor. The menus are easy to use, and customizable, but there still are some things which I wish they were there. Manual focusing is cumbersome and not customizable enough. Autofocus is bad in weak light. JPEGs are lower quality than RAWs (DNG), but you cannot get JPEG color rendition by processing RAW files. Would I buy again this camera? Yes, for $200 (or $300 including taxes). But not for $600 of course. Right now I'd exchange it for a GR1vRead full review

This is not a point&shoot, repeat, this is not a point&shoot.
If you are looking for a compact point&shoot, this camera is probably not for you. If you are looking for something like a DSLR with a 28mm lens that will fit in your pocket, then this is the camera you were hoping for. The image quality rivals most DSLRs and the customization features far exceeds all DSLRs.
If you like to shoot wide and travel without, well, anything, then the GR is the way to go. There is a little bit of a learning curve, so give yourself some time to get familiar with this camera before you endeavor to take a trip with it.
While it is a "cult camera" for "street shooters", I find it is terrific for landscapes and other applications. Read full review

The best camera
I have Nikon A, D7000 dalr, Fuji x100, x100t and x100f.
This is the only camera I carry all the time. The size, jpeg image quality, “positive film” effect, battery life, body built, one hand control .. almost perfect.
Very curious to GR iii now.

Crisper than my 5DmkII, and lighter too...
This camera is all a compact should be. Yet it punches some more.
1. Pocketable (really pocketable, not like almost pocketable in somme large ones...tried fuji X70 and it failed.)
2. It packs in a superb APS-C format. No bypass filter. Nice lens. 28mm lets in just enought landscape, and still permits portraits, don't frame close in some context around a face or shoulders tells a story as well.
3. Use to hike only with the iPhone, and leave the 5Dmk II at home, now i can play a little more with depth of field and extra crispness without the extra bulk.Read full review

Ricoh GR II ... almost perfect
Probably the second best pocket sized, high performance digital camera. The first is, not surprisingly, the GR III. Awesome image quality... small package... ideal for an everyday carry camera and best suited for quick paced street photography.Read full review

Great stealthy and sharp!
Great street camera. Light and stealthy. Sharp and beautiful images. There is no difference between this and the GR II except that this one doesn't have wifi. You could use a wifi SD card though if you really needed wifi. Excellent value at half the price of a GL II or about a third the price of a GR IIIRead full review

Amazing pocket shooter
Still great years later, best camera purchase I’ve ever made maybe
I have a v nice massive mirrorless interchangeable lens system that I literally never take out of the house when I’m having fun because it’s huge and annoying to tote around
I’ve have taken more great photos of myself and my friends in the last few days of having the Ricoh that the last year Read full review
