The title was clear and accurately described the contents of the book

Frank Shorter was a superb runner whose competitive record is first class on all surfaces. It is always intriguing to see how these runners got to that point.
1. This book is clear and easy to follow and also raises several issues relevant to the subject.
2. As well as saying what the author did in training, it tells us something about his philosophy of running and why he trained the way he did.
3. He also gives fairly detailed instructions to the less talented of those with less time to train than himself.
For all these reasons, it was a good buy.
