Functional with some design flaws

The upsides of this scratching post are its size, height, sturdiness and materials used for scratching. However, the base has sharp corners that hurt your feet if you accidentally trip over it. It should be designed with bevelled or rounded corners. Also, the two screws on the top are visible. The product does not provide anything to cover them so as to make it more aesthetically pleasing. It is definitely functional but there's room for improvement in terms of design quality.Read full review

High quality, very sturdy, well worth the price!

This is the best kitty scratcher I've ever bought. I usually have 3-4 scratchers spread through the house in order to protect the furniture and carpets/rugs. I have 3 kitties and they typically demolish one scratcher a month (the sisal generally unravels from all the scratching). This scratcher is built to withstand lots of kitty attacks and doesn't tip over when they jump on it at full speed. We recently moved to a new house and they have been quite stressed...which means they have been needing to scratch more often. This scratcher shows no sign of wear! Absolutely brilliant. Very pleased with how well made it is. My cats love it. One thing the designers might do is to cover the timber top with some good thick carpet. I had to add some end protectors to the sharp corners in case my cats knock it through the wall.Read full review
