Brilliant piece of kit.
First things first. It's a sizeable chunk of speaker. Does it need to be the size of a very small coffee table, and the weight of a small child,? Probably.

Setting up is easy once the USB receiver and speaker jack are connected to the TV pairing is a simple press of a button.

Being wireless it can be placed anywhere in the room. If you, like me have a partner that the speaker's sleek lines don't match the Laura Ashley cushions the it can be tuck away behind an armchair or in a corner.

Now to the business end. The sound is most impressive, even my partner who isn't the greatest lover of tech remarked on great it was and on occasions looked around the room to see where the sound was coming from.

These units are a bit hard to find now, but if you have a compatible TV it's a relatively cheap addition that makes a world of difference to your viewing.Read full review

Excellent Sub

This Sony BR100 Sub Woofer is an excellent speaker, it's not the most powerful but sometimes that's best as the depth and volume is perfectly matched for a Sony Bravia's internal speakers. Anything more and it would have too much bass. If you can find one, buy it as it's a fab speaker and looks great !!!Read full review

Great product, perfect to improve audio quality / range of modern slim Sony TV's (especially the XD93)

Excellent product, really improves the audio quality / bass range of sound (from my Sony XD93's). A little tricky getting 2 to co-exist with their respective Tv (65" downstairs, 55" upstairs - & have one in black this one in white). There is a bug in the current o/s on the TV within Android - sound (full audio range not just bass) can blast out of sub sometimes, usually when tv is powered on - despite the TV still being set to use headphone socket as the sub correctly- the quick fix - is to set the headphone socket to another mode and then set it back to sub but the longer term / permanent fix is to reset the whole tv to factory settings while the sub is connected and working. It then sets itself up and is fine then (this written late August 2016 - another software update due September 16). The price of it brand new is a little too high IMO; £199 ought to be its max RRP - when compared to other brand sub-woofers but hey ho, its bespoke to the Sony brand and has their name on it :-(

One difference I noted; the black one I have has a green status LED (with corresponding user manual talking about a green light during set-up / usage) and the white sub - an amber light (for the same purpose) with the manual talking about amber in that one - so there seems to be subtle different variations of the unit. Only mentioning this as having set-up the black one, I felt I didn't need to read the manual again for the white one - and so was thrown-off by not getting a green light - just amber - which was actually indicating that one was actually working normally!Read full review
