I bought two
This is an easy to upgrade your Mini MagLite to a brighter solution. It may appear pricey, but it is well worth the money. I bought one to "test drive" it, and after installing the upgraded bulb and the new reflector head, (which is very easy) I immediately purchased a second one for my other light. This is a great alternative for a small light. The original brightness was ok, but this really cranks up the lumens.
If you are looking for a brighter solution, I don't think you would be disappointed with this.Read full review

Bright led replacement for AA maglite
While it is only 105 lumens, it is still a bright replacement for a mini maglite. The only downside is it doesn't fit like the original bulb and reflector. When I first installed it and tried to put it back together it ended up breaking my maglite. I had to order replacement parts for my mini mag just to get this to work. Instead of returning it I bought the replacement parts to fix the maglite then got this to work. In the mean time I bought the mini maglite set that came with the aaa and the aa led mini maglites. They are way brighter.Read full review

Works as intended
Definitely a step up from the incandescent bulb. It is also brighter than an original Maglite Mini AA LED I have that puts out 69 lumens. The only thing that I don't like is that this is a pricey upgrade, and for $3-10 more, I could just get a Maglite Mini Pro that puts out 226-272 lumens, but I didn't want to just toss a perfectly good casing. Whether it is worth it or not is up to YOU.Read full review

You probably want this.
If you are someone who:
- can't stand getting rid of still useful things,
- who loves modding stuff,
- who wants to make your old Maglite brighter,
- who was going to spend about the same amount on a new, similarly bright LED flashlight anyway,
then just get this. It was easy to install and works as advertised. The difference is pretty incredible. The only people I could imagine not wanting this would be flashlight aficionados/snobs (do they exist?) Read full review

NEW LIFE TO AN OLD FLASHLIGHT!
I found my old MiniMag, AA flashlight. It was in good shape but the light was terrible compared to some cheap, LED lights I have purchased. I decided to upgrade with 150 lumen led. While the price of the LED is about the same as a new light, I liked my old MiniMag and would prefer using it to the newer, cheaper ones I've ordered from China. This bulb is a vast improvement over the original bulb, much brighter, and easier on the batteries. I would like to see someone come out with a super bulb, to fit the MiniMag, that could handle the 14500 Li-ion batteries. Since these are basically the same size as the AA but with various Mah ratings and up to 4.2 vdc and rechargeable, I would like to see one more up grade for my MiniMag. However, for now, this LED fit my light perfectly and gives me about 2X the light and longer battery life. If you want to bring new life to your old MiniMag and you don't mind spending a little more, this is a great solution.Read full review

Good Mini Maglite Upgrade
This may not be the cheapest option, but it is a very significant upgrade to an existing 2AA Mini Maglite. So far I am very happy with the fit and performance of the TerraLux TLE-5EX. I find this to be a good middle-of-the-road option as far as light output and battery runtime. I feel like I will actually be able to see what I'm looking at in the dark now!.. whether that be under the hood of the car or out in the woods. Granted, the original Maglite krypton bulbs did have a very long life, but they just don't produce enough light. Now I just hope that this meets the TerraLux claims about durability / longevity. Only time will tell...Read full review

Satisfactory
The light bulb installs easily and emits a white light. It's perfect for certain applications, like for searching a car or a garage. It's not the best spotlight, and the light beam doesn't focus all that great. You could get a 272 lumen mini mag at Walmart in CA for about 25 dollars, so it really just depends, if you want to revive an old mini maglite than this light bulb is perfect or just buy the l.e.d mini mag at any department store even eBay.Read full review

THIS LED IS BRIGHTER
I had bought other LED upgrade kits but none like this, it’s smaller brighter and excellent upgrade for my mag light. As an assembler, I recommend this to anyone who inspects, assembles, trouble shoot, or just need more lighting. It’s also great for camping and working on your vehicle In not so well lit areas.Read full review

Makes a mini maglite one of the best flashlights you'll own
I had a couple AA battery mini maglites and they were pretty much useless with the stock bulb. With this upgrade you don't really need a much better flashlight. AA batteries are reasonably cheap and available anywhere so again with this upgrade it will make a mini maglite a serious, coyotes are in the back yard on a dark night, serious flashlight.Read full review

Well worth buying at the right price....
Well worth purchasing brings brightness level up to a big maglite very bright for such a small size easy to install I purchased the optional glass lens for that extra bit of brightness would recommend if you can get it at the right price as they tend to be a little expensive for what they are but worth it if you require a bright but small torch....Read full review
