Great movie Action Packed

I was fortunate to see this when it was released to the theaters in 1977 you have to see this on the big screen it is incredible.
There are some movies that was made for the theater this is one of them.
But the DVD that was released to the public is very good the picture is sharp and clear and the sound is great.

THE CAR

This is a great way to spend an evening. I love this movie and can't say enough good about it. Sure, it's on the low-budget side but who cares? I became a fan seeing it at the drive-in and enjoy watching it.

I would love to have the rights to be able to remake this picture. The fun I'd have with it!!

An easy FIVE STARS.

A different kind of horror movie

Everyone in my family who watched this movie enjoyed it, but we wondered why there was no explanation of where the car came from or why it showed up in the town where the story took place. It had a few unexpected twists in it, also. I thought this movie may have been from a Stephen King story, as it seemed like something he would have thought of, but it wasn't.Read full review

The Car is a great fun movie to watch.
The car itself is actually a 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III modified by George Barris.
The same guy that made the T.V. show Bat-mobile out of, you guessed it, a Lincoln Continental.
The engine in The Car was 460 cubic inches and the distinctive horn was a Grover 1700-1748 air horn.
Listen closely and you will hear the horn blow a - Di Dah Dah Dit - which is Morse code for "X".
I've purchased from GRUV before. Always quick delivery and quality products.

What evil force drives THE CAR!! (Insert infamous horn)

The Car is one of those film's that people would call a guilty pleasure, me, it reminds me from when I was a kid and loved HBO for showing a PG horror film during the day (a day when PG had more testicular fortitude than it does today).

A car that came from who knows where that killed people and has a horn that anyone who ever saw the film (whether they liked it or not)can still hear it in their head after all these years (would love to use it as a text alert sound, LOL).

The film, that in my opinion, was the inspiration for Stephen Kings Christine. Both about demonic cars that kill, whereas Christine posses someone and in The Car it is driven by the Devil or Demon.

Don't look for philosophical meaning, don't look for high end acting, look for the film it is, drive-in material with the occasional chuckle.

Most people would give this a two or three stars, personally I like film's like this so I split the difference and gave it four stars.

If you buy it, enjoy!

Great movie

This is me of the most interesting and entertaining movie that I have ever seen. One of the most scariest and frightening horror movies ever. The DVD was in such good shape. No scratches, the paper was wrapped around neatly and easy to remove. It also plays very well and has a great sound. I highly recommended this movie for everyone.

The Car

I love this movie. This is pre Christine. I never get tired of watching this movie. We have James Brolin as the lead in this movie. Makes ya think; a small town where you think nothing bad can ever happen and boom here comes " The Car".....Read full review

Oh SNAP, we DIDN'T kill it!

There's a lot of "cult" interest in Barris's THE CAR after more than 40 years. Sure, the film (1977) was considered "a dud" back in the day...a view that sealed its fate as a cult classic. So I purchased a copy, new and re-mastered.....O.K like I remembered it (it actually aired on NETWORK T.V just a year or so after its lukewarm run in theaters) And I reckon everyone involved in the whole thing (a victim of bad timing, too, btw: the fascination with telekinesis/demonically endowed machunes was passing peak in '77.....folks were into Close Encounters, Star Wars & "at the disco" oriented movies by the time this thing hit the big screens....) got about what they paid for putting out this hoot. Still, THE CAR still holds sway in the popular sub-conscience. And the Horn.....ohhhhh, that HORN......BWAHHaHaHahahaaaaaaaaaa!!...Read full review

A cult classic of it’s time!

It was so refreshing to see a good classic movie with no blood but good action drama. I hadn’t seen this movie in years. Plus I got a chance to see some actors I have not seen in a long time. Such as James Brolin & Kathleen Lloyd. I wish they would make a pg 13 rated movie like this.Read full review

Its Killer!!!!! That is one scary car!

I love a good horror movie and this one is the greatest! The first time I saw it was when I was a kid and I've wanted it ever since then. What can I say I just love this movie, it makes Christine look like a kitten.Read full review
