Michael Thomas Spanish

Already have the french course and can now speak it reasonably well. Bought the Spanish course because we live near the border with Spain. It is not as quick or as easy as you are lead to believe. You have to stick at it and get through the first disc. After that it is truly surprising how much you learn. You also learn the foibles of the language which unlocks the potential to piece together additional phrases yourself. Highly recommended.Read full review

First choice for learning Spanish as an adult.

I reviewed Michel Thomas' tv programme, now on Youtube, in The Guardian in 1997, and we became friends. His approach works brilliantly in Spanish, exploiting the regular features in the language and making them clear to English speakers at a sensible pace. I'm less keen on his French and German, as it does not quite get to the essentials, but applications to a range of other languages, including Greek, Arabic and Mandarin, have been brilliantly successful.
