The Best Album Bowie Never Wrote
When I first heard the single 4 out of 5 on the radio, it seemed very familiar, which is always quite comforting. From the shaped vocal sound, to the musical taste, this could have come anywhere between Alladin Sane and Diamond Dogs and I loved that about it. Hearing the full album on Spotify was just as impressive. The loose concept of the Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino on the moon drips 70s sleaze and cool in equal measure. For a band that started so brightly in the indie rock scene with clever lyrics and playful phrasing it doesn't surprise me that with maturity Alex Turner and co have been able to release an album as good as this. Definitively the best album since their debut release and the best album I've heard in the last 5 years.Read full review...
