Works...... eventually!
Bought this to convert old VHS tapes to Laptop. Supplied instructions were useless. Software asked for a product code that wasn't supplied. I Googled 'honestech product key tvr 2.5' and got 1 of 2 possible codes. Then found the supplied connectors didn't fit as they were female like on my video!? However, managed to find an old scart lead with the male fittings at the other end. That hurdle over it still didn't work!! I then found a badly made video on YouTube which showed the settings needed on the software and finally got it going. It seems reasonably ok so far for the low price paid, so I'm happy with it. But just be prepared to Google and YouTube additional info and possibly hunt around for alternative connectors!Read full review

Drops Frames
This USB A/V capture device continuously drops frames making syncing audio with visual (using Adobe Premiere) virtually impossible. This was with no other applications running.
Device installed ok under Windows 10, but after several minutes I received the error message "Application has been blocked from accessing graphics card." Although, this is probably more of a problem with Win 10 than the device. After uninstalling/reinstalling it appeared more stable - although continued to drop frames.
For the price maybe I was expecting too much!
It might have been better to record the VHS video onto my DV camera straight from the screen.Read full review

Driver problem
So far I have not managed to use it and get results as it has not performed as I expected for my job; this is an ongoing experiment. This is my forth EasyCap but the first one that failed. I was most surprised to get an email that said it is not compatible with Nero; I have been using these since Nero9 and am now on Nero16. Also this does not perform with Arcsoft. This is the first one that was not supplied with a driver and links supplied to get one were not that helpful. Mark it up to experience.Read full review

GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
Regretfully after initial easy install the product didnt work properly. Items would show on screen for transfer but video was constantly jerking and unwatchable. Have purchased much better quality version from Maplins. This will be returned for refund. Looks like it works some of the time from other reviews.Read full review

Easy to use, just very low quality
Well it works even on Windows 10 but the quality it records it at is at webcam quality so it's not the best....But still it works and an easier way to get your old videos from your camcorder onto your computer, just in less quality so keep your original tapes still.Read full review
