Poor quality, badly made
It's cheap and cheaply made.
Three months in, the audio jack has started to break and sound only comes through one channel, unless I hold the jack at a certain angle. The sound quality is a little poor, certain frequencies are cut off. Sometimes if I move it, it seems to lose connection for a second or two, acting as if the USB cable had been taken out and plugged back in. I didn't treat it badly or anything, it's just been sitting on my desk. The design is odd - it has a persistently flashing red light on the inside and semi-transparent plastic body, so the thing just flash-glows at you the whole time.
Don't buy it unless saving a pound or two is worth all that!Read full review

Bright red glow
The jack plug end looks a bit cheap and there is a huge red LED within which causes the whole case to glow red and become warm. Not sure how long any circuitry will last in the heat. The software volume has to be close to zero or the output becomes very loud and distorted. However it does the job and for the price is good value.Read full review

Good quality adapter, great for Raspberry Pi 3
This adapter works great in windows 10 (plug and play) but I particularly wanted it for my Raspberry Pi 3 since the analogue output port has too much interference. This works perfectly in latest Raspian Jessie image, just set it as default audio device in Preferences -- Audio Device Settings and then use on 'omxplayer -o alsa' to play mp4s, mp3s etc. Perfectly clean audio for your headphones etc (obviously use HDMI audio if possible, but when that's not available this USB audio adapter is just as good)Read full review

Good quality, Low Price
I'm using one on a high-powered Linux desktop and it works well. Ignore the 3D 7.1 Channels description. I'm sure the chip inside has that capability, but you can see from the illustrations that it has a 3mm Stereo Line Out socket and a 3mm mono input socket for an electret microphone such as the one provided with a headset.
The Line Out socket provides good quality sound and is enough to drive efficient headphones. I use it to drive self-powered speakers.
It is good value and also will fit directly into a Raspberry Pi zero even when adjacent sockets are in use. With a USB micro to Type A adaptor, it will work well with all the other models provided with USB ports.Read full review

You get what you pay for - poor sound, poor build quality
Poor bass, the Raspberry Pi 3B I bought it for has better sound quality.
Also poor build quality, the audio socket developed a fault only after plugging in my headphones twice. Now only one side works. Pay a bit more for better quality, such as this: 123960633170Read full review

Sound card works well
Very annoying that unlike all 7 prevous computers the DELL OPTIPLEX 3040 has no sound card installed! Happily this device is not only unbelievably cheap, but works well for me. Having USB jack on short extension cord, instead of directly onto device, makes it easier to 'arrange' on machine and so less likely be be damagedRead full review

usb audio dongle
Lots of these on ebay.. but this one accepts the more up to date windows usb pnp - plug and play driver. Good value for money in my opinion - will work with a usb-c to usb-a adapter for more up to date laptops. Still on going issue with windows 10 and usb recording for skype / teams calls..not directly related to this product, but I find using the open source Peace Equalizer - UI for Equalizer APO fixes it.Read full review

Works fine.
Good packaging. It works fine for the output but the input is low. If you conect it you need to use the headset right away because you will not hear anything from the main speakers.
For it is value, I think it is just fine.Read full review
