Essential kit
When my original floorhead seized up and couldn't be fixed, I went to the Vax website for a replacement. Unfortunately, this item was out of stock so after two weeks, I tried Ebay and found one immediately. It fitted perfectly and does a great job of hoovering up on both carpets and hard floors. Great item. But it has 2 thin wires to connect to the motor which move around and wear/break too easily when the floor head swivels back and forth. I had to reinforce the wires with additional tape and also cut away some of the plastic trim close to the wires to help mitigate the wear that these wires are subject to.Read full review

Expensive but necessary
This is a replacement for the original head that only lasted 8 months before the brush stopped working. I found a broken wire in one of the pivotting areas which was too short to repair. Unfortunately, I had misplaced the receipt so couldn't get a replacement under warranty. At £45, this is an expensive but necessary part.Read full review
