Whisper quiet
I'm using this pump to recirculate hot water. I run the pump on low speed with an on time of 25 sec every 30 minutes. The pump is so quiet at this speed it is hard to tell it is running. The 25 second on time is sufficient to keep hot water in the far reaches of my home's plumbing system. Initial quality seems very good, I have only had it in use for one week. Long term durability is yet to be determined. Read full review

The other NPT didn't seem to fit (only about 2 threads) This unit kept running and I burned my hand when checking it I didn't notice a pressure difference in the house but it did create a noticeable flow difference when connected directly to the garden hose. I wasn't impressed but continued to fiddle with my beautiful installation trying to connect this one. I will go back because it doesn't shut off and that is a problem.Read full review

This pump just serves the function of recirculating hot water, but does not have the attached timer which cuts the cost. Due to a lack of an exterior power outlet near the tank, I connected the pump under the sink with two 3-way valves (1/2 FIP, 1/2 compression, and 3/8 compression) and two 16 inch hoses with comparable sizes (all from Home Depot store). The pump plugs to a 3-wire extension with an on/off switch, and can provide hot water for only 30 seconds after turning on and shut off immediately (to avoid hot water in the cold faucet). It is expected that the pump can last for a long long time with this setting.Read full review

I didn't want to buy a $700 acid pump for a 4 week passivating run, so I bought a few of these. They are lasting about 1-1/2 weeks in a 10% citric acid at 125 degrees F before failure, running 24/7.
