Fast Modem
I was a little concerned about making this purchase given some of the other reviews about buying from other sources other than directly from Verizon FiOS but as it goes this turned out to be an excellent deal. I get great speeds all the time as indicated in my Speedtest results (on all my connected devices)!
Everything was brand new and I just plugged it into my connections and it worked without having to contact Verizon or do anything special.
It was easy to configure my Plex server and other devices port permission to access as needed.

Poor range, keeps dropping internet, there are better options
Although Verizon promotes this as their top[ line router, it has no external antennas and the range is poor. True both for 2.4 and 5.0 bands. And even at 30 ft away I kept losing the signal. Plus it would not let me flash the firmware even though it was Verizon labelled.. By the war if you buy one that is from Frontier, you also will not be able to flash the firmware to get the latest Verizon features. Verizon disabled this for the Frontier units.Best to buy a aftermarket router that is ac1900 or better. If you need the coax cable for the Verizon FIOS TV, (MOCA), then disable the WIFI on your old Verizon router using the admin portal and going to settings, and hook up an Ethernet cable from one of the 4 ports on the aftermarket router to the WAN port on the Verizon router. Otherwise you lose the menu and widgets.Read full review

Connection problem
I gave it a one star because I have to keep logging into my smart TVs, fire stick loses it’s connection very regularly. That’s probably why they have such a short return time frame. I should have just bought one brand new.Read full review

Inexpensive power for all your electronic devices.
A breeze to set up. I just plugged in the new router then moved the various ethernet and coax cables from the old router to the new router. In less than 15 minutes I was back in business. All attached and wireless equipment seems to be performing as expected. I needed this particular router because it uses MoCa and my video equipment requires it for wireless connectivity. Great Alterative to Buying New From Verizon
This router is the same one Verizon installed in our home when we went to FIOS. Once we were sure we were going to keep the service for our two year commitment, we decided to purchase our own router/modem rather than continue to rent from Verizon for $10 A month. We called Verizon to buy the modem and we were willing to pay their $150 price, but Verizon made the process difficult. Rather than allowing us to keep the modem they installed a month earlier, we had to surrender our current modem and they'd ship us a replacement. Since I'd have to swap equipment. Set up the new router and have a new network and password, we decided to shop around. Found this one slightly used for a fraction of the price! The modem was plug and play, which was a snap to connect. Didn't have to reconfigure anything and it works great! We have a new network name and password but there is a sticker on the modem which provides that information. So glad we made this purchase!Read full review

Everything I hoped for
When it comes to electronics you are very cautious going through a 3rd party. I took a risk and it worked out exactly how I hoped it would. Good Used Fios G1100 Router
This router was listed well below other used routers of the same make and model. As of now seems to be working fine. Verizon does not seem to be able to network into it, however I was told this may be because it could be an older version of this model. Still it was worth the savings.Read full review

The USB ports are useless due to a firmware update distro that never happened!
The product has a fairly easy to use user interface and instructions. However, there are two USB ports on this model which are supposed to be usable after a firmware update by Verizon or the original manufacturer, since several years ago. Working fine so far and saving money!
The Frontier Fios installer fiddled with the ONT and then just plugged in the router. Called his guy back at the center, had him change the old ONT from coax to Ethernet and every thing is just fine.
