Coffee Grinder

Great little grinder - can't go wrong for the price. This is the first small grinder that I have used. It does a great job. It has only one grind speed/setting but I bought it to go with my Von Chef Espresso machine and it is just right for that. It is also pretty easy to clean after use. My only criticism is (and this may be true for all these small grinders) is that it is pretty difficult to get the ground coffee out of the grinder. Read full review

Lightweight with great features.

I have only used this for grinding coffee for my cafetiere, and it does this job really well. It is simple to use, just pop in the beans put on the lid and press the button until the fineness is achieved.

Cleaning isn't quite as simple as the blade isn't readily removable (at least as far as I have noticed), this means to clean the item you need to get under the blade with your cleaning cloth. Not a big problem, but takes a little time. I have only been cleaning this grinder once a week to keep on top of it.

All in all, a good item, but a simply removable blade would make it easier to clean.

Excellent grinder and motor sound well engineered too

Does the job very well. Sound like a well engineered motor too. Non of there are really easy to clean, (think fingers & blades) but this is the best I have used. The recepticle part is deeper than others too with the top being a deep smooth plastic material which is very easy to wipe clean and is just great. Its a big help for cleaning and holding, not 'more' - but without 'spillage' of grounds too.
I use mine for very fine delicate seeds too and it handles to perfection.

I have bought several other Domu household and garden products too and every one is a winner.

Great spice grinder, not so great for coffee but good for the price.

This replaced a 30-year old Melita coffee grinder that's used purely as a spice grinder, that finally died. It does the job that I need it to do very well - grinding dried cummin, coriander, mustard and chilli pods.

As a coffee grinder, it's not going to give the consistent results that more expensive burr mill ones do, but as a spice grinder it's perfect. I don't expect it to last the same 30 years that my other one did though.

Great little grinder but has a down side

It's a great little grinder and does a really nice job with my coffee but..... It really does need the ability to remove the grinder tray. You're got to clean it as is with cable attached etc. So far, a wipe out is sufficient but if you grind something sticky and messy, you'll struggle to clean it properly.
For the money, you can you can't really go wrong.

Not what i expected

The biggest problem is that it's an ordinary hand or small based blender and does not grind with a 2 cylinder based motor inside it's lower body. I tried to grind coffee beans, but because of how high the blades are, it leaves alot of coffee bean fragments, meaning you'll have lots of coffee fragments when you go to make a cup of coffee.
A positive of the product is its sleek design as something you need to grind coffee beans and herbs/spices, that is small enough to take with you on holidays and keep in the kitchen without cluttering up too much space.
My recommendations would be to use this for blending peanuts for desserts and mixing large herbs, but not coffee beans in general, as you would need to use a mortar and passel to finish grinding out the excess fragments.

Going nuts

Great little gadget!! Grinds almonds to powder in one go!! But it can get over heated if you don't have short breaks, so do so. The blade is great & you clean inside this with a soft dry cloth & DO NOT PUT IN WATER DUE TO THE BUTTON ON THE FRONT which will damage the product!! You can rinse the lid though. I would give this product 5 stars if the motor was more powerful & didn't over heat! Not tried other nuts yet.

Great for one job only so 4 stars

Works really well but difficult to clean , i use mine to grind seasonings . it could never do coffee as the remaining spice would taint the coffee . only good for one job only so 4 stars only .
