Van chef mini oven
I purchased this product to both supplement and take the place of my regular electric oven. It was very good value for money but it's the same old story "you get what you pay for". I was surprised how hot the exterior housing becomes and somewhat surprised I cannot turn off the rotisserie when I don't need it. The indicator knobs could be better placed, it's difficult to see with ease when you are switched to oven. That being said I would make the purchase again.Read full review

An Odd Beast
It's okay oven wise, but boiling 2 eggs in a small saucepan took 30 minutes! The problem is that once max temperature is reached it turns the power to the hob off (I checked with an electricity consumption meter). So it's ok for heating up baked beans etc but boiling takes forever. I now wish I'd bought a cooker without hobs and bought a separate induction hob, which I'm probably going to buy anyway. It seems odd that the timer has to be used to get the power on, and the rotisserie (which I have not fitted) turns when the timer is on, though it's not noisy. You do get a 2 year guarantee upon registering the product.Read full review

Fantastic oven, let down by the hobs.
It looks good, the oven is fan assisted and heats up quickly. The grill works fine.
The hobs can be used together with the oven off, or one hob can be used with the oven on.
The hobs are a let down. One is 600W the other is 1000W. One that can boil water is 1500W.
I don't think you will find a mini oven with a 1500W hob.
I waited 30 minutes while trying to boil water and gave up. There was no pan lid.
I have read that someone has boiled a soft boiled egg in 30 minutes, probably with a lid on.
I think it will be fine for frying and various other things but if you plan on boiling vegetables, you will need a separate hot plate.
It may be a consideration to buy a mini oven without hobs and separate hot plates.
I am pleased with it and a separate hot plate works for me.Read full review

Good value for money
This oven does just what it is supposed to do for this price point. You have to remember that you are no using a hob or oven that runs off 30 amp power. You need to remember that and make allowances and then you get along just fine. It is not a replacement for a full power hob/oven/grill in a 'cooks' kitchen but it absolutely does the job for simple heating and re-heating and basic cooking. It does what I need it to do so I am happy and would recommend this product.Read full review

Have found a problem
I have used the above product only once since receiving it 2 weeks ago. The problem being that the air vents on the sides of the oven get extremely hot which I don't think is correct. Also, in trying to cook frozen chips, I had to give up after about half an hour as they were soft and still white. I quickly went to their aide by removing them and placing them in a smaller old mini oven and they cooked in about 10 minutes. This is not the first rotisserie oven I have purchased and have had no problems before. Can you please resolve this problem for me.Read full review

Oven is great, hobs not so good
Very neat oven, takes up less space than full size cooker. Does exactly what I need it for.I've got a separate induction hob for frying etc and I can put it all away in a cupboard

Bit disappointed to be honest
Don't like the heating element rods that run parallel inside the oven if I had know of this before purchase I would not have purchased. The oven also get extremely hot on the outside when in use.
On the positive, it is roomy and fairly easy to useRead full review

Very practical
Nice little/big oven. This is a really nice and well thought out stand alone cooker. Just right for the extra oven space we are going to need at Xmas. We have used it a few times and all is good apart from 2things you should be aware of. 1. The door does have a stop gap to it , for grilling, but go beyond that and the door just drops. 2. The timer must be used to the right time , it cannot be shortened once it has been set. If , like me, you do happen to set the timer too long just turn the oven to off once you have set up another timer, this will avoid over cooking your meal. Very happy with my purchase. ThanksRead full review

Ideal for small spaces
Great oven for roasting and baking. Capacity is ample for small family meals and I've made brilliant roast potatoes. The only negative is that you can only make use of one of the two hobs if you are using the oven at the same time.
All in all, I really pleased with my VonShef.Read full review
