Fantastic product

Since using Zinsser paints I will not use anything else now for painting projects. The Primer, Sealer & Stain Killer does exactly that, coupled with Perma-White Interior Paint top coat has banished the damo stains & mould penetrating through single brick walls. I allowed the brickwork to dry completely before applying Screwfix's No Nonsense Water Repellent Sealer to the exterior walls which also acts as a fantastic water barrier. Although Zinsser paints are a bit more expensive, they are money very well spent as have tried other products in the past which did not do the job! I cannot rate Zinsser paints highly enough & am so pleased I came across them!Read full review

Primer, Sealer, Undercoating....

This covers any water stains perfectly without any reactions and takes gloss on top.....no bleed through on my jobs, and some stains were quite heavy, seems very thin when applying but does the blocking job as stated...I would recommend this for priming any stained/poor quality surfaces before glossing, dries quickly, price per litre is best available, dispatched quickly, packaged well,...Read full review

Did the Job Admirably

Bought this on recommendation, to paint over a Sadolin teak-stained stairs before finishing in white. Coverage is very good and only took one coat, albeit I will probably use two coats of my fave top coat, Dulux Once Satinwood, to give a lustrous finish. Downsides? It dries a bit quicker than I would ideally like and it gives off quite a strong odour so good ventilation needed.Read full review

Great Coverage.

Covered a old walnut chest great, wanted to shabby sheek it and it looks brilliant. Someone recommended this for the job I was doing, what a good recommendation! It is very runny but I'm used to using non drip paint but will still give it 5 *****.Read full review

Worth the price

New home had various shades of dark woodwork which needed a lift. This paint is great, its a milky consistency but covers really well. Needed 2 coats to totally cover before finishing with a top coat. No sanding required, highly recommended.Read full review

time saver

As I paint old furniture this product is a time saver as it saves a lot of time sanding down old varnish. It also gives a good base for the paint.

Shellac based primer

we restore and paint vintage furniture. After initial preparation we always prime with this primer because it will adhere to any original varnish or paint finish, act as a 'knotting' important on Pine furniture, and as a 'stain block' to prevent any old spillages e.g. ink that has soaked in to the original wood, from bleeding through. We have never had any problems with the final finish (usually oil based eggshell paint)Read full review

Great product.

Firstly, don't be put off by the price. In this case you get what you pay for! Brilliant base paint that will cover anything. Two coats recommended and nothing shows through. Covers literally anything. Highly recommended.Read full review

Good job

Did the job, sealing tobacco smell on plaster board. Dries very quickly, able to repaint within an hour.
On the downside very thin, covered prob 10 square metres, at £30 a litre made it an expensive job.
But it works.
