Holes in hoses
The Kreepy Krauly had a 40 feet of hose that came with it. Of the 12 hoses that connected together to create this 40 foot hose 2 of them had slashes in them. I called Specialty Pool Products the day after I received the products and told them the problem. They told me someone that is knowledgeable about this product would call me back but that I should call the manufacture (Pentar) and let them know about this. I have never heard back from Specilty Pool Products and it took 3 calls to Pentair, with a 20 to 30 minute wait each time before they finally resolved the issue. They sent me a new box of hoses. It seems like Specialty Pool Products should have dealt with Pentar and honored their responsibility. I like the Kreepy Krauly but do not recommend purchasing it from Specialty Pool Products.Read full review

Leaky hoses let air in so Kreepy doesn't work
Leaky hoses - Kreepy Krauly does not move
I have used a Kreepy Krauly for more than 20 years and it has always been a good pool cleaner. This New "improved" model does not perform. Unit moves about 2 feet then the air leaks in the new hoses that come with the unit, cause the pump to pulsate with air and the suction is lost. Kreepy Krauly does not move. This is what happened when I bought cheap replacement hoses for my older model. Appears Pentair uses the same cheaply made hoses with no quality.Read full review

When using this unit, it puts a strain on pump motor when you close one value. This can cause motor to wear out sooner.
This unit tends to hang around shallow end of pool. If I put unit in outlet closest to pump it will tend to overload pump,
too much suction. I am unable to run both KK and salt water unit at the same time. It will trip circuit breaker. I do have to change outlets for unit to stay in deep end of pool. This KK unit does work well. I would rate this unit as a B+.Read full review

No snake oil here. Kreepy Krauly works like a champ.
I've been a pool owner since 1983 and this is my third Kreepy. They last and do a good job. Maintaining my in ground gunite pool is very easy. Kreepy keeps it very clean and minimizes chemical use. For a 14,000 gallon pool, I run the Kreepy 4 hours a day so it saves electricity too. A win-win in my book.Read full review

Not as good as the previous model
I have used Kreepy Krauly products for more than 20 years and have always been satisfied with the pool cleaner's performance. I have a large shade tree right next to my pool, so as you can imagine cleaning out leaves is always an issue. The older models handled leaves pretty well, although occasionally they would "choke" when a large leaf got stuck in the flapper. The new model can't seem to handle any debris larger than 1 inch in diameter without "choking," which means I have to clean out the flapper every 5 minutes unless I'm able to remove every single leaf from the pool before using the cleaner. Krauly is a bvery good pool cleaner.
The Krauly works great on cleaning the pool and keeping the leaves removed. You do need an in line cannister and bag to catch the debris before it gets to the main pool filter. In-line Swimming Pool Leaf Canister with Large Mesh Bag. It is much easier to clean and does a better job of protecting the main pool filter.Read full review
