I bought this item to replace a Rothenburger Torch that got stolen on site. It looks identical ,it feels identical, & it works just as well. The branded item that I lost was very nearly three times the price-- need I say more!
I Like the easy self ignite trigger mechanism because I use my torch for heatshrink on cables which requires frequent starting and stopping. The flame is fully adjustable from a cool flame to a pinpoint hot flame, as you would expect from this type of torch.
I made the mistake of using butane at first but found that it left sooty deposits on the heatshrink but since I used Mapp that problem has gone away.

We what can I say totally awesome blow torch brought this as I was struggling with a stuck rusted in o2 sensor heated the o2 sensor Bung cherry red in no time and pair of stilsons and a few taps with a lump hammer and it came undone well pleased as the local garage wanted £300 to do the job save your money just buy one of these very easy to use with map gas very powerful flame removal of o2 sensor made easy give it some heat around the Bung very happy with it very well made exactly the same as the rothenberger except half the price awesome get one you won't be disappointed.Read full review

Super heat and easy to use

Best blow torch I have ever had by miles. I needed to heat up some steel rod to get a neat bend and with a map gas cylinder this had the job done in a vey short time. Had the bar glowing red quite quickly and it would have been a real struggle to do this cold. So handy to switch on and off at the press of a button. This torch is identical to my previous, branded, torch that cost almost 3 times the price I paid for this one.
It lights easily, is easy to control and is well balanced.
Every bit as good as the expensive alternatives.

This my first Mapp gas Torch so I can't do any comparison, however l am impressed with the quality build of this torch, and it is very easy to use. Torch is very well made and lights first time. I am by no means an expert on flame tip or temperature, but i soldered with no problems and heated a piece of mild steel to red hot in no time at all. So i assume this is hot enough to do brazing work. Maybe need more if your a professional plumber or fabricator, but this torch did the trick for me.Read full review

Replacement soldering torch

Bought this after reading reviews. My faithful old rothenberger torch had to be replaced because threads on body wore out after 20 plus years of regular use. No point in changing design as it’s pretty much perfect. Got this a week or so ago and it’s identical to old one. It cost well less than half the rothenberger one. So very happy heating engineer!
