Tricky install

This DRO is actually a very good deal for the price. It is a bit of a challenge to install but once in place and programmed for the application it preforms well.
The unit came without installation instructions but you can find some online or email the builder for their translated manual. All their manuals including the operating manual are mostly a joke for English speaking users so you are mostly on your own for both the install and the operation. You can get some hints as to what the DRO is capable of in the user manual but that is about the extent of manuals usefulness.
I really like the cost of the unit and it does the job well for me but it was quite a process to install and program. (I needed to change one of scales to read 1/2 of actual for direct diameter read-out)
I would buy this unit again if I needed an in expensive, reasonable quality DRO.Read full review

Nice DRO

I bought this DRO and the three axis version from the same seller, but in seperate purchases. Although the pictures in the ads show them as being similar, they are not. The buttons on the three axis are quite different and don't even match the pictures in the manual. And the manuals are so badly written it is hard to believe they are not a practical joke. They are totally unintelligible, even if you download a manual for another brand of DRO and compare them side by side. It's hard to capture how bad they are.

The product seems good though, the price was great and the shipping was very quick and very reasonable. Except for the fact that they can don't look (and possibly function) as I had expected I'm pleased with them both.

If you are going to struggle with the technical details of using a DRO this might not be the best choice, unless you have a friend or a good source of reference material to work from. Read full review

great value for the price

Depending on your application you may have to make some of your own installation hardware. The manual as others have said isn't the best.... Maybe not the best choice for a 1st. time DRO & Scales installer.... These reasons is why I only rate it 4 stars. If you have any experience at all with installing & using a DRO there should be very few issues with an installation of 1 of these kits

Great price for the capability it provides

In the beginning I was apprehensive about using glass scales, but after mounting them with the protective covers I'm confident that with the double seals and the covers they will be fine. I had never installed a DRO on a machine of any type and it went very well.

This DRO works great and is very sensitive to any movement of the table of my 9"x42" milling machine.

The user manual is not well translated but with an understanding of the different functions along with YouTube videos of other DRO installation and use, it was not hard to figure out how to use this DRO. The great price of this DRO made the poor manual much less of a problem. One thing I thought was odd about this unit is in order to input a number less than 1, for example .9, you have to key in a 0 before the decimal point. That was a head scratcher for me because I've never run across this in all my years of inputting numbers into digital devices. It's not a problem now that I understand it's necessary.

Cool yo use

Like using the DRO, Had to download a couple manuals to learn to use it since to one that came with it is useless.

DRO display seems to have all the functions.

After viewing a good number of videos on you tube this unit seems to do everything I saw in the videos. Price is very good with a large selection of gauge lengths.
