Easy to use (and yes the springs are supposed to be strong!)
Suspect Gwyn hasn't grasped how these work. The spring needs to be strong to hold the number plate and you aren't supposed to be able to pull the springs apart by hand. You attach the clips to your trailer (screw or pop rivet) with sprung bit at bottom. Using the number plate you place it in the 2 slots and easily push down on the top of the number plate (much more leverage) which expands the clips and allows you to slot the top of the plate in the top of the clips and then release the plate. The clips then hold it tight in position no matter how bouncy your trailer gets. These are brilliant to allow me to share a trailer with my brother and other people without having to resort to gaffa tape/cable ties.Read full review

Cheap and cheerful, but they work
First, they do what they are intended to do. they hold your number plate firmly. Buuut, they aren't perfectly formed. I had to fasten the backing plate at an angle because the clips weren't square to the plate. So, if you want a well engineered item, this ain't it. But, if you want a cheap pair of clips that do the job, albeit a bit wonky, these are fine.Read full review

Excellent clips, particularly suited to towing using multiple vehicles.
Cleverly designed small number plate holding clips. Sensibly made of Stainless steel so corrosion resistant these pressed clips are not very strong considering the strength of the number plate retaining spring but rely on being fixed to a robust backing which is reasonable as that will usually be a trailer or caravan. They were easy to pop-rivet to the back flap of a trailer and grip the plate perfectly (anybody doing this needs to be careful where the electrical flex runs when drilling holes for rivets or screws).
At least two different vehicles use our trailer and swapping the number plates over is now a doddle, this is probably the best advantage of these clips.Read full review
Trailer Number Plate Spring Clip Holders
Very good quality easy and quick to use. I mounted it on my trailer and makes my life much easier as I don't have to tape the number plates anymore just slide it on the clips. I believe it fits most of the trailers if not all. I recommend good and practical product.Read full review

Extremely useful
If you switching trailers then this saves you multiple number plates, very secure grip whilst being unobtrusive.
Just one note :- remember to take plate of when finished otherwise you will forget you number plate and where you've left it lolRead full review

Easy to fix, hold number plate firmly
These were inexpensive and fairly straightforward to fix to the rear of my caravan, couple of pop rivets and job done.
My thinking is, remove the plate from the 'van when it is pitched/stored, then if the van gets stolen, the thief would have to have a number plate with them, otherwise it would be obvious. Also prevents the number plate getting nicked and used by some one else.
Time will tell if the stainless bracket and spring withstand the elements/salt.Read full review

Springs too strong
I purchased the stainless steel spring loaded number plate holders, however, when I received them it turned out that the spring were far too strong for me to use,you can hardly pull the springs apart directly by using your hands, but if I had fitted them I would not have been able to remove them due to the excessive strength of the springs, this made them unsuitable for me to use,and it would have cost almost the same to return them (£3.05) as they cost £3.10. So I’m afraid I cannot recommend this product.Read full review
