Bring your ads to life with video

Create engaging ads that help boost sales with the video format for Promoted Listings.

What you need to know

Starting soon, you’ll be able to use video in your Promoted Listings with a priority strategy. With video, buyers will be able to see your item in action, understand key features quickly and feel more confident purchasing.

Use video to:

  • Stand out in search results and top placements across eBay
  • Show your product in action
  • Highlight details that photos can’t show
  • Build trust so buyers can shop with confidence

How it works

Starting soon, you can add short videos to a priority campaign. Videos will appear in eligible placements across eBay. If a placement doesn’t support video, your ad will automatically show your listing image instead.

Getting started is simple:

  • Already have a listing video? Use it in your ads with no extra steps required.
  • No video yet? Upload one when you create or edit your campaign.
  • You can add one video per listing, up to 60 seconds long.

There’s no change to how you’re charged. Promoted Listings with a priority strategy will continue to use cost-per-click pricing.

Tips for creating great videos

You don’t need professional production. Clear and authentic videos often perform best.

  • Show your item within the first few seconds
  • Keep it concise and aim for 15 seconds or less
  • Focus on one key benefit or feature
  • Design for sound-off viewing

Next steps

Starting soon, you can add video to your listings or campaigns directly in Seller Hub. If your listing already includes a video, you’re ready to go.

FAQs

You can add a video to your listing  when creating or editing a priority campaign. When creating or editing a campaign, select the option to add video and upload your file. You can also upload a video to your listing first and then use it in your ads.

  • What kind of videos can I use?

You can add one video per listing. Videos can be up to 60 seconds long, in MP4 or MOV format. Any aspect ratio is supported, though 16:9 is recommended.

  • What happens if an ad placement doesn't support video?
