How to become a Certified Recycler

Getting started is straightforward.

  2. Complete the VRAC audit process.
  3. Earn your VRA Certification designation.
  4. Maintain your certification and remain in good standing.

What you'll include in your listings

Eligible listings should include:

  • Condition grade and condition information.
  • Mileage, where applicable.
  • Part location.
  • Relevant part details, such as the manufacturer's part number (MPN).

  • What is Certified Recycled?

    Certified Recycled sellers complete an annual audit managed by VRA Certification Ltd (VRAC) to verify they meet UK standards for recycled vehicle parts. The audit assesses quality management systems and processes for sourcing, grading, testing, storing, selling, tracing, and warranting recycled parts.

  • What is a Certified Recycled part?

    A Certified Recycled part comes from a certified vehicle recycler that follows recognised standards for identifying, testing, grading, and preparing recycled parts. Where applicable, parts include a warranty, are covered by eBay Money Back Guarantee, and are checked against relevant vehicle safety recalls before sale.

  • Where do I apply?

  • Does certification give me access to insurance repairers?

    Certification can increase your visibility to insurance-approved repairers and other professional buyers. It doesn't guarantee sales or commercial contracts.

  • Is eBay the certifier?

    No. Certification is managed independently by VRAC. eBay recognises VRAC-certified sellers as eligible to participate in the Certified Recycled programme.

  • Do I need to be a member of the VRA?

    No. Membership of the Vehicle Recyclers' Association isn't required to become Certified Recycled.

  • What do I need to include in my listings?

    Eligible listings should include condition grade, mileage, location, and relevant part details where applicable.

  • Does certification mean eBay inspects every part?

    No. Certification confirms the seller meets recognised quality standards and follows the required grading process. eBay doesn't physically inspect individual parts.
